Rantings of a Wannabe Change Agent

Sometimes it seems that fighting for good causes makes one a hero. Unfortunately it is never so, and these are my feelings after spending so much time trying to make people who should know better do their job a little bit better than they are.
It is of course election year and everyone is moving around but looking behind not wanting to be caught wanting in the impending cull or rewards that always occurs after one party has won, and the others left with their tails in between their legs scurrying to their various campaign offices to clear their desks and return to their former boring lives with trepidation. It takes 4 years depending on which side of the political divide you are, giving one the feeling of standing on the outside looking in without being invited to the party. Watching everyone 'Chopping Nyafu Nyafu' tearing some tasty fat chicken thigh or 'Akonfem' to the chagrin of others.
In as much as this posting is sounding like a political statement, its rather the opposite. I have always felt that given that all the candidates from all the parties have equal skills sets and potential to govern this nation. The missing link in the the puzzle is the people who constitute the electorate, who are in charge of making the system work, who through no fault of theirs have had most of the thinking faculties numbed by submission allowing no reaction to insanity, corruption, lies, hypocrisy, nepotism, protectionism (you scratch me back et.all) to blind their judgement of purpose. So the Onus is on the people who vote for whoever wins to demand results and rewards for their votes, by holding politians accountable to their electorate, by making good their pre-election promises instead of disappearing into the political abyss having left you with a cheap T-shirt (shape disfigures, with ink running after one wash) and GHC10. I hear that's the going rate for the rent 'a' crowd party groupies following the campaign who provide the  essential massive turnout(for the media), support and voice .
